• Free Mobile Days: Emancipet operates mobile medical units in Travis County providing free spay/neuter, rabies vaccines, and microchips on designated days on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Location: 7201 Levander Loop, Austin, TX (Main shelter serving all Travis County)


• Services & Costs: Offers free microchips and pet ID tags daily to Travis County residents. AAC frequently collaborates with local non-profits to host free drive-thru vaccine and microchip clinics throughout the year.

• Location: 10930 E Crystal Falls Pkwy, Leander, TX (Northwest of North Austin)


• Services & Costs: Low-cost spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping, heartworm preventatives, and walk-in affordable vaccine clinics.

• Vanguard Veterinary Associates & Vetco (Petco): Regularly scheduled weekend popup clinics hosted inside pet retail outlets in North Austin. Offers discounted core vaccine packages, deworming, and microchipping without requiring a full exam fee.


• Wells Branch Pet & Bird Clinic: Located in North Austin, offering low-cost vaccine clinic hours and affordable spay/neuter packages.

Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is the most humane and effective method for stabilizing feral and free-roaming outdoor cat populations. Several free and subsidized programs serve North Austin and surrounding areas.

• Shelter-Neuter-Return (SNR): Free service for residents caring for 1–2 outdoor cats. Includes spay/neuter, rabies vaccination, and an ear-tip (the universal indicator of a sterilized community cat). Drop-offs are accepted Monday–Friday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at 7201 Levander Loop.


• Volunteer Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR): For larger colonies, Austin Animal Services volunteer trappers assist with trapping, transport to the recovery unit, sterilization/vaccination at Austin Humane Society, and release back to their exact original location. Submit trapping requests via email to communitycats@austintexas.gov.


• Free Humane Trap Rentals: Austin Humane Society provides free humane trap rentals (credit card deposit required) to community members who wish to trap cats themselves for scheduled clinic appointments.

• Location: 1855 SE Inner Loop, Georgetown, TX


• Services: Offers 100% free spay/neuter, rabies vaccination, and ear-tipping for stray, feral, or free-roaming cats within their service area (including Cedar Park, Leander, and Williamson County portions of North Austin).


• How to Access: Surgery days are Tuesday through Friday. Appointments must be scheduled in advance by calling 512-943-3322 or emailing wcras@wilcotx.gov.

• Service Details: Emancipet provides spay/neuter, rabies vaccination, tattoo, and ear-tipping for feral or outdoor cats in humane traps at a low cost ($69 per cat).


• Policy: Emancipet maintains a policy to accept community cats in humane traps without turning them away if daily surgical capacity permits.
